One of the most exciting features that Apple introduced in the iOS 11 update is the ability for users to record their screens directly from their devices. This means you can easily capture a video of your workflow, whether you're demonstrating how to use a specific app, walking through a presentation, or simply showing off your device setup.
To start recording your screen, you first need to enable the screen recording feature in your Control Center. To do this, go to your Settings, select Control Center, then Customize Controls. From there, tap the green plus button next to Screen Recording to add it to your Control Center.
Once you've added Screen Recording to your Control Center, you can access it by swiping down from the top-right corner of your screen (iPhone X or later) or swiping up from the bottom of the screen (iPhone 8 or earlier) to pull up the Control Center. You'll see a circle with a dot inside – that's the screen recording button.
To start recording your screen, simply tap the screen recording button. You'll see a three-second countdown before the recording begins, giving you time to navigate to the screen you want to capture. To stop the recording, tap the red status bar at the top of the screen and select Stop.
After you've recorded your screen, the video will be saved to your Photos app. From there, you can edit the video, trim it, add annotations, or share it with friends, colleagues, or on social media platforms.
Recording your screen can be incredibly helpful in various scenarios. For instance, if you're a teacher, you can create tutorial videos for your students. If you're a designer, you can showcase your design process. If you're a gamer, you can share your gaming achievements. The possibilities are endless!
In addition to recording your screen directly on your device, you can also record your iOS device screen using QuickTime on your Mac. Simply connect your device to your Mac using a Lightning cable, open QuickTime, select File > New Movie Recording, then click on the arrow next to the record button and choose your device as the camera source.
Whether you're a professional looking to create instructional videos, a social media influencer sharing tips and tricks, or just someone who wants to show off their device workflow, screen recording on iOS is a powerful tool at your disposal. So go ahead, hit that record button, and show us a video of your workflow!
