Wondering Why Popping Pimples Is Hard to Resist? Here Are 4 Reasons Why

People have lots of bad habits that they do to their skin using their hands, and one of the most famous is pimple popping. Probably, no one isn’t interested or has never been tempted to touch and pop the zit on his or her skin. You yourself are guilty that leaving the pimple alone is kind of hard to do, but sometimes, you also are not sure why it is.

Let’s say it’s true for everyone that pimple popping is hard to resist. The reason or reasons why it is so are also common for most or everyone. Here are 4 reasons:

The feeling of having pimples is annoying for you in two different ways.

One, pimples hurt. That mere feeling that they are painful and accompanied by a stinging sensation makes them naturally and automatically annoying. When you get a feel of your skin’s face using your hands, you don’t get glad by feeling the pimples that have grown again after a few ones just went out the previous week. You pop pimples because you just don’t like it when you accidentally and abruptly scratch that little but deadly pimp on your face when you’re just peacefully fixing your eyeglasses or wiping your nose. Ouch!

Two, pimples’ sole existence annoys you, as along with it goes that “Why do you have to come out now?” kind of feeling, most especially if there’s a special event coming up soon. You pop pimples specifically during such times because you’re in a hurry to let it leave as it isn’t invited to that big event which you’re about to attend. Instead of using those facial creams and pimple remedies that says on its label, “best results after 7 days”, the tendency is you just pop it in one go, let than a minute.

When you touch your face and feel those bumps and swelling portions of the skin, you get annoyed by it since it’s not supposed be there; it is a foreign body present on your skin.

Pimples aren’t unusual to people at all. It’s not like you’ll be condemned if you have a pimple on your skin, but sometimes, you just feel so uncomfortable and unconfident when you have one. You feel like your face is a whole piece of pimp that needs to be hidden.

You pop pimples because they make you shy or afraid to show your face to other people. When you have one, it’s very noticeable, especially when it’s located on the face, because it’s not something that stays usually on your skin; it occurs seasonally so if you have one, it catches eyes really, most especially your eyes.

You pop them because you don’t want to people to look at them while talking to you face-to-face. They make you too conscious about how you look.

When you’re not able to pop a pimple, it’s like your mission isn’t accomplished yet. You feel like there’s something else that has to go, and that is none other than your pimple. Being able to pop a zit gives you a sense of satisfaction, that finally, you were able to remove it out of your life! Yes, that’s the kind of feeling it gives you.

According to Heather Berlin, PhD, a neuroscientist, when you feel satisfied after removing a pimple, dopamine is given off in your body, which gives you a sense of relief after that “intense” quest to pop the zit. There comes a calming sensation with a bunch of delight.

The irresistibility of popping pimples is weird and inexplicable in a such a way that sometimes, you don’t really plan on pooping that pimple, but after awhile, you just find your hand already on that thing!

It’s hard to resist popping pimples because there’s a feeling that they’re calling you to pop them. Have you experienced that? You don’t want to touch it because you know you might wound your skin, but in the end, your hand still landed on it. You sometimes feel like the pimple is seeking attention from you to touch, scratch then pop it!

Pimple popping is a hobby of many people and an unnoticed manner done by most. There are specific Scientific explanations for that, and there are many other reasons for other people’s popping pimples irresistibly, but above, explained are the most common reasons, written in a very conversational and simple way.

Popping pimples might be hard to resist, but remember that it’s not always that doing so is healthy. Some wrong ways or times to pop them include when your hands are dirty and using improper materials to do so! Pimples are part of the human body as blemishes that arise due to many causes such as stress, dirt and pollution, foods, lifestyle and so much more. If you have them, know when to pop them and know when not! Use facial creams which are good for your skin. Get a facial treatment if needed, and make sure you consult a doctor first and that you follow all his/her prescriptions for you to have a healthy and pimple-less skin.
